If you have a Ripplewear storage bag, chances are good that Jan made it. She also has stitched on yards and yards of binding to the Ripplewear curtains.
Jan lives in a basement apartment and works in her spare bedroom. She has a sweet, gentle nature, a strong faith, and gives the best hugs! It is worth delivering work to her just to get one of those hugs!
Here is her story.
Hi. I'm Jan,
In the summer of 2015, a group of ladies in the Bible study I was attending were planning an October trip to the Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster, Pa. Sue was heading up this trip and asked if I was going to go. I sure wanted to but wasn't sure I could come up with the finances, being a widow and on limited income. Sue decided that she would offer me enough work sewing the bindings on the curtains she was making so that I could go. Well, I did go on that trip and have been on several other trips since. I love what I do and the fact that I can work at my own pace in my own home. My cat, Creeper, also likes that I work at home so that he can 'help'. Of course his idea of ' helping ' and mine are a little different. I put in the pins to hold the binding for sewing, while he pulls them out!
I am so grateful for the freedom the extra income provides like going out to breakfast with friends on occasion, going camping with my daughter and great granddaughter every summer. I am also grateful for the friendship between Sue and I that has grown over the last 5 years. She is awesome to work for and with, and like her sister Debbie, I am awed by her ideas and know how to accomplish them
